Most Hemorrhoids can be treated without surgery. Occasionally, surgery is required. If surgery is required, Dr. Fox performs The Stapled Hemorrhoidectomy, The Painless Hemorrhoidectomy.
The Mid South Rectal Clinic was founded by Dr. Michael M. Fox, a Board Certified Colon and Rectal Surgeon with 25 years of experience. The Mid South Rectal Clinic is the only practice in the Mid South devoted exclusively to the problems of the rectum. The cornerstone of the clinic is the treatment of Hemorrhoids.
Most Hemorrhoids can be treated with a simple in-office procedure called Hemorrhoidal Banding.
How does Banding work?
The Dentate Line is a line up inside the rectum. Below the Line, there are more pain nerves than anywhere else in the body. Above the Line, there are no pain nerves. So, by putting a tiny rubber band above the Line, the blood supply to the Hemorrhoid is cut off and the Hemorrhoid just shrivels up without any pain.
When surgery is required, Dr. Fox does The Stapled Hemorrhoidectomy or Painless Hemorrhoidectomy.
How does The Stapled Hemorrhoidectomy work?
A special instrument allows Dr. Fox to do the procedure above the Line where there are no pain nerves so the surgery is not felt.
