The Mid South Rectal Clinic was started in December 2004 by Dr. Michael M. Fox. The Clinic is the only practice in the Mid South devoted exclusively to the problems of the rectum. Dr. Fox is a Board Certified Colon and Rectal Surgeon with 25 years of experience. He is up-to-date on advanced diagnostic and treatment techniques that allow for safer, less invasive, less painful, and better results. The cornerstone of the practice is the treatment of Hemorrhoids. Usually treated with a painless in-office procedure called Banding. Sometimes surgery is required and then Dr. Fox performs The Stapled Hemorrhoidectomy, also known as The Painless Hemorrhoidectomy.

The other problems frequently dealt with at The Mid South Rectal Clinic include fissures, fistulas, and rectal pain. Dr. Fox also treats incontinence, the inability to hold in one’s stool. He also treats difficulty moving one’s bowels. These last two problems bother women much more than men.
