Rectal Pain

The rectum has more pain nerves down at the bottom than any place else in the body. Rectal pain is often excruciating.

The Mid-South Rectal Clinic, founded in December 2004 by Dr. Michael M. Fox, a Board Certified Colon and Rectal surgeon with 25 years of experience, is the only practice in the Mid-South devoted exclusively to the problems of the rectum.

Dr. Fox employs advanced diagnostic and treatment techniques that allow for safer, less invasive and more successful results in treating rectal pain no matter what its cause. The cornerstone of the practice is to treat patients without causing pain or, for patients who already have pain, taking the pain away as soon as possible.

One way this is done is examination with anesthesia. Patients with terrible pain can be examined only with anesthesia so as not to make the pain worse.

Patients with rectal pain, particularly excruciating rectal pain need their problem solved quickly.
